How Potion Making works in Dino Kid: the campfire Cauldron, every ingredient, the Fairy seed system and the permanent Witch class from the Halloween 2026 Potion Making update.

Where it fits
Potion Making is the second of three Halloween 2026 updates. Part 1 Trick or Treat launched September 18, Part 2 Potion Making on September 25, and Part 3 Grand Finale lands November 1. The whole event — and all Candy currency — ends November 15, 2026.
The Cauldron
A new Cauldron appears next to your campfire (by the Crafting Bench). Drag the ingredients shown above the pot into it to brew. The liquid changes colour with every addition, giving live feedback on your experiment. Wrong ingredients disappear and knock you back, and jumping into the pot damages you — so brew from the edge. A recipe book beside the Cauldron lists tips and recent combos.
Potion ingredients
Two pools feed the Cauldron — items you can grab in the wild, and rare Fairy ingredients you unlock by trading Flowers.
Found in the forest
- Morsel — Drops from bunnies.
- Bunny Foot — Has a chance to drop from bunnies.
- Coal — Found scattered across the map.
- Mackerel — Catch it with a fishing rod in a pond.
- Steak — Drops from enemies like Wolves and Bears.
- Berry — Harvest from berry bushes.
Fairy ingredients
- Dripleaf — Found near ponds after buying Fairy seed packs.
- Moonflower — Best harvested at night.
- Stareweed — Grows where there is concentrated light.
- Cave Vine — Discovered underground.
- Mandrake Plant — Found near trick-or-treat houses.
How to get Fairy ingredients
Many magical plants never spawn on their own. Give the Fairy Flowers to unlock special seed packs — Dripleaf seeds, for example, start appearing near ponds once purchased. Moonflower and Stareweed have specific growing conditions (night, concentrated light), so plan your harvest runs around the day/night cycle.
Potion effects
Every brew is a mystery potion — throw it to trigger a random effect. Some are helpful, some are pure mayhem: transform into a frog (and get flung when it ends), spawn valuable coins or treasure, cover your screen with a pumpkin face, drop everything in your sack, or chain a heavy ball to your leg. Effects echo the Tricks from Trick or Treat, and each successful brew also pays out around 10–15 Halloween Candy.
The Witch class
The Potion Making update added the Witch class to the Halloween Shop for 900 Candies — and unlike the Trick or Treater class, the Witch is permanent. Unlock it once and it stays on your roster after the event. It starts with the Witches Potion tool, making it the thematic pick for any potion-focused run.
Quick tips
- Check the recipe book beside the Cauldron before each brew — it shows the latest ingredient combos.
- Stock Fairy Flowers early so you can buy seed packs for Dripleaf and the other magical plants.
- Each brew pays Candy — brew steadily between Trick or Treat runs to fund the Witch class and shop furniture.
- Brew with friends for chaos, but watch the ball-and-chain and pumpkin-screen tricks before a night raid.
