Where the four missing kids are in 99 Nights in the Forest: rescue guide for Dino Kid, Kraken Kid, Squid Kid and Koala Kid, keys and the day-counter reward.
Last updated: July 23, 2026Missing Kids — How to Find & Rescue All 4
Four children vanished in Dino Kid, 99 Nights in the Forest before the park closed. Use the Missing Kids board, follow the arrow, defeat each cave’s guardians for their colored key, and bring every kid home. Each rescue speeds your run.

The four missing kids
| Kid | Key | Campfire | Guardians |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🦕 Dino Kid | Red | 2–3 | 5 Wolves |
| 🐙 Kraken Kid | Blue | 4 | Alpha Wolves |
| 🦑 Squid Kid | Yellow | 5 | 2 Bears |
| 🐨 Koala Kid | Black | 6 | 6 Alpha Bears |
How the rescue works
Near your campfire sits the Missing Kids board with four posters. Click a child’s picture and a red arrow appears at the top of the screen pointing to their last known location (a crafted Compass also marks it). Walk to the cave, beat the guardians for the matching key, unlock the colored door, and carry the kid back to camp — they set up a tent and bump your day-counter multiplier by +1.
Dino Kid
Red KeyCampfire Level 2–3Guarded by: 5 Wolves (red collars)
Your first and easiest rescue. Follow the arrow to a fenced hill, clear the red-collared wolves, grab the Red Key, and free Dino Kid. He is also the star of the Dino Kid update.
Kraken Kid
Blue KeyCampfire Level 4Guarded by: Alpha Wolves (blue collars)
A tougher pack of Alpha Wolves guards the blue door near a playground. Bring a revolver, pick them off one at a time from a vantage point, and collect the Blue Key.
Squid Kid
Yellow KeyCampfire Level 5 (unlocks map)Guarded by: 2 Bears (yellow collars)
Reaching Level 5 unlocks the whole map. The yellow door is guarded by two tanky Bears — lay bear traps, bait them in, and use a strong ranged weapon like the Morning Star or Tactical Shotgun.
Koala Kid
Black KeyCampfire Level 6Guarded by: 6 Alpha Bears (gray collars)
The hardest fight in the game. Six Alpha Bears guard the black door — upgrade armor, stock ammo and bandages, and clear them over multiple days if needed. The Black Key ends the quest.
Rescue tips
- ✓Upgrade your campfire in order — each kid unlocks at a set level, so you cannot rush the later ones.
- ✓Aim for headshots on wolves; they out-damage body shots and save your bandages.
- ✓For Bears, craft bear traps and bait them in — they die after a few traps and you avoid the trade.
- ✓Keep strong ranged weapons (revolver, shotgun, raygun) for the Alpha Bear cave.
- ✓Clearing the Koala Kid cave can take multiple days — disengage and return, The Deer waits at night.
- ✓Save all four for a +4 day multiplier; it is the fastest way to reach the 99-night finale.
